What Bujo-Related Thing Are You Excited About in February?

We're starting a new month and for many people, new months mean new beginnings. It's arbitrary, but there's something about seeing that 1 on the calendar, right?

So let's turn to our bujos. Are you trying anything new in February?

Maybe you're getting a new journal. Or do you want to try out that new fountain pen? Perhaps you've decided to experiment with a habit tracker. Or are you beginning a bujo for the very first time ever?

Whatever it is, let's talk about it here. Go!

I am going to Actually do the thing. Or at any rate have Good Intentions, while looking at the concept some more. Never bullet journaled before, but I keep wandering back to the concept...

My new thing is Actually Bullet Journaling!

... Or, well, kind of. Technically I've bullet journaled (bujoed? bulleted?) before, but it only lasted about half a month. But I have a fresh new journal that is not tinted red like the last one and I am hopeful that it will work better this time. :D

My goal is to try and test out new lists and things of that nature. I really want to find a way to make bullet journaling work for me but I need to trial and error it a bit, so my main goal is to start doing that a little.

I finished up my Moleskine cahier for January and have switched to a Leuctturm 1917 dot grid because I was curious. So far I'm really liking it!

I was already doing a habit tracker but I added a small thing to help keep me oriented in time: I included the day of the week and did Sundays in red with all the other days of the week in blue. I have recurring things depending on the day of the week so this just helps keep me organized, even though the particular habits being tracked have nothing to do with that. I did the same thing for my monthly scheduling whatsit.

I also added a submissions tracker for writing and a wordcount tracker, to help keep me motivated. And a page of fountain pen inks so I can see what they look like and compare them to each other, but that's pure frivolity. I just like pretty colors. :)

I want to try drawing more!

And I want to practice my handwriting/lettering.

I also want to experiment with different pens/markers.

I'm trying a Weekly Log! It's working out great so far (except for the part where I'm not feeling well enough to tackle my projects, but still). I'm also doing more habit trackers and daily gratitudes and tweaking what goes in my Daily Log.

This month I'm experimenting with spending trackers and other financial trackers. Last month I tried one that didn't work out, so I'm looking for something new to try in February.

My layouts and trackers have been extremely basic so far, but I did subscribe to Pipsticks and am excited to hopefully receive my first package of stickers some time this month.

I added some new habits to my monthly habit tracker.

My habits are vaguely based on the 7 Habis of Highly Effective People, especially Sharpening the Saw. So the stick figure is for body, the thought bubble is for mind, and the heart is for relationships/spiritual (for a non-religious person like me) stuff.

I'm going to try using the habit tracker this month. I'm still deciding what habits I want to track--I have a long list of things I want to improve about myself, but I know rationally I can't do everything at once.

I've moved up to a larger notebook - it's about B5ish instead of the A5ish Large Classic Moleskine I was using before.

OMG it's a revelation. 7mm ruled lines and the bigger notebook means that I can write at my natural size instead of the relatively slow speed I had to adopt to cope with the Moleskine.

I miss my gridded paper, and I had been planning to go to an Extra Large gridded Moleskine, but the pleasure of the 7mm lines instead of the 5mm grid is worth the hassle of having to measure things.

I think this change might be enough to get me to finally stick with a bujo for work? We'll see, anyway.

I'm using it almost exclusively for task management at this stage - I'm still contemplating whether and how to do event/appointment management as well, but task management is the horror part of my job so it's the bit I really need good tools for anyway - so it's my priority to get that right first. :)

I started one! (Started one a few days ago, to be precise.) Hoping it'll go well :)

Well, I've been really neglecting my daily todo lists the past few weeks, so I'm aiming to get back on track with that. :P

That's me, going back to the basic monthly 2 page spread.

But i'm also excited because I ordered a Rhodia hardcover A5 ruled that I'm going to use as a Commonplace Book of Writing and Craft, because I think what I want to do with notes on the craft of writing and reflections about books is...kinda squished when I try to make it a collection. So my Bullet Journal is actually my writing notebook in specific, talking about my own ideas and work, and the commonplace book will be a notebook about writing in general with a concentration on what other people say about it.
