inkstone: Air Gear's Ringo pulling down her glasses (you can count on me!)

I don't know about you, but I'm prone to bouts of perfectionism. "Oh no! I misspelled a word in the page header! I have to rip out the page!" Things like that. In my defense, I've gotten over this, but it was bad in the beginning.

Or even better, I come up for this awesome spread that I intend to use for this Important Collectiontm...that I completely forget about. This possibly has happened to me more than once.

So I was wondering if any of you have had similar experiences? Did you create a tracker or collection that you never use? If you suffer from perfectionism, how do you combat those impulses? Let's chat.

I've stopped trying to make my spreads more complicated than they need to be. ^_^

I started out using a 2 page weekly spread that had tons of boxes for notes, and spaces for a lot of different lists. I was ending up with pages that were more than half empty space. I looked at what I was really using the space for, and then redesigned my weekly spread to only take one page, and I like it much better.

I learned to stop trying to make cute headers and illustrations; it takes more time than I'm willing to offer, and I end up rushing and it looks ugly etc etc etc

I think I tried maybe four or five different weekly spreads before I found one I was happy with. My first bujo doesn't look very pretty, but it's fun to look over it just to see the improvements happening over time *g*

I like messier pages and I put washi tape over mistakes. Plus I use a binder system so if I really needed, I could take a page out. I do have a favorite useless spread/collection. I wanted to track how many uses I got out of a solid shampoo bar and I thought it would be a big number I couldn't keep track of in my head, so I made a page. Supposedly it was supposed to last 90 hair shampoos, but it only lasted, like, 14, so I ended up with a super empty page. I don't care what it looks like so there's splatters from another page on it, lol.

Well, you just reminded me of a collection I made that I hardly use! XD I've never ripped out a page, and I certainly don't bother with anything other than crossing out misspellings, but I did once tape two pages together because I'd made my monthly spread wrong--I wildly messed up the dates+days of the week.

I have a book I test layouts in, but if I've stuffed it my main trick it to print a colouring book page onto sticker paper, cut to size, and BOOM! Covers up most boo-boos.

I have a zentangling lay-out that I just didn't use at all; I prefer '100 ways to see'.

On spreads I never use, I started an expense tracker that I kept updating late or wrongly, until it was easier to just count the cash in my wallet than rely on the spread. I still want a better way to track my money though.
