They're basically a Japanese highlighter/marker set. They have two ends: a highlighter style end and a fine-point marker style end. I love them because they're colorful and they don't bleed through paper like a lot of highlighters and American-brand markers. I don't mind shadows through pages because it makes me feel like the journal is being used and well-loved, but I can't stand ink bleed.
